I’ll mainly be writing about the West Coast hoops scene at the new College Basketball Nation Blog. I want to say thanks to everyone who took the time to read Diamond Notes for giving a down-on-his-luck ball writer a reason to stay in the game. What began in March as an outlet to...

“One of the concerns we had as a committee was we didn’t have complete knowledge of the Mitchell Report, nor could we find it on the Web where we could read it in its entirety. What it's like to have your Juan Pierre story...
I remember sitting in the media workroom at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla. during spring training when I received an e-mail from fjm-messenger@…. “Smile!” the subject line read. “You’re on FJM!” Huh? I had never heard of a blog called FIRE JOE MORGAN. The e-mail contained a link to Junior’s post on my Juan Pierre feature. I laughed out loud at the...

Peter Gammons: My 20 years at ESPN - ESPN →
ESPN gave me the experience of the 2002 World Series. Barry Bonds hit a home run in Game 1 in Anaheim off Troy Percival that was one of those Jack Buck what-I-just-saw moments. Later in that game, he grounded out against wunderkind Francisco Rodriguez. Doing the highlights, I mentioned how difficult it is to hit Rodriguez’s cutter the first time one faces it. Next day: “Peter,...

Jeff Fuller meddling in Dodgers' Asian affairs?
Jeff Fuller, the beau and driver to fired Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt, flew to Taiwan earlier this week to conduct some Dodgers business. Say what? The above photo comes from the Web site of an unsuspecting Taiwanese legislator, who was given a Dodgers jacket and autographed Joe Torre baseball by Fuller. The photo has since been removed from the site. At issue is just how Fuller, the...

Taiwanese news outlets reported yesterday that the Dodgers have been extended an invitation to come play spring exhibitions in Taiwan, and the Dodgers are now confirming this and considering it.
