Dodgers say Padilla accidentally shot himself

Vicente Padilla did indeed shoot himself today, according to the Dodgers.

“We did hear about it this afternoon and have been in touch with Adam Katz, his agent, who confirmed that he did in fact accidentally shoot himself,” Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch wrote in an e-mail. “We’ve reached out and offered our support and hope to get more details tomorrow.”

UPDATE: El Nuevo Diario updates its original story, quoting police public relations officer that Padilla was accidentally shot by his own bodyguard.
