    Report: Angel Villalona out on bail

    Giants prospect Angel Villalona was released on bail on Friday, according to a report in the Associated Press. He is still expected to stand trial for murder, the AP reports, but is apparently free because the victim’s family is OK with it.

    Various reports here, here, here and one by ESPN’s Enrique Rojas speculate the family has received money from Villalona in exchange for his release.

    Villalona received a $2.1 million signing bonus from the Giants at age 16 in 2006. He was charged in the Dominican Republic with the murder of a 25-year-old man at a bar in September.
