Jeff Fuller meddling in Dodgers’ Asian affairs?

Jeff Fuller, the beau and driver to fired Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt, flew to Taiwan earlier this week to conduct some Dodgers business.
Say what?
The above photo comes from the Web site of an unsuspecting Taiwanese legislator, who was given a Dodgers jacket and autographed Joe Torre baseball by Fuller. The photo has since been removed from the site.
At issue is just how Fuller, the team’s former “director of protocol,” represented or misrepresented himself in this international incident. Neither he nor Jamie McCourt are Dodgers employees. The team is currently considering playing spring exhibition games in March 2010 in Taiwan.
Check out this Taiwanese news report, translation courtesy of Google:
Fuller told Chou Shou-Xun (the legislator), the Dodgers are very concerned about Taiwan’s match-fixing scandal, and said that early in January next year, Shou-Xun Zhou invited McCourt came to Taiwan, McCourt will share the Dodgers signed aiming to halt the illegal gambling and mafia involvement in the experience and methods will also share how to combine the communities, schools, training to enhance the influence of professional baseball. He pointed out that the future of the Dodgers baseball team and the Taiwan does not exclude the possibility of cooperation and exchange.
Wow. I’m sure Fuller has no political considerations in mind other than helping the good people of Taiwan stop their players from throwing games. Does Fuller know Chin-hui Tsao from General Tso? Does Jamie McCourt?
Reportedly, Dodgers director of Asian operations Acey Kohrogi had to fly out to Taiwan after the visit from Fuller to represent the team.
Just another day in the world of Dodgertown.
